The Food Policy Action (FPA) will automatically add you to its database of supporters when you participate in any Food Policy Action campaign. If you do not wish to be on Food Policy Action's list, you may unsubscribe at any time, and Food Policy Action will make that option easily and readily available. Food Policy Action will never sell your email address or other contact information.
Like most websites, Food Policy Action servers may record the numerical Internet Protocol (IP) address of the computer you are using; the browser software you use and your operating system; the time and date you access Food Policy Action's website; and the Internet address of the website from which you linked directly to Food Policy Action's site. Food Policy Action uses this information to measure the number of visitors to various sections of the site, to diagnose and correct system errors, and to improve the site. No information that identifies you personally is collected in Food Policy Action's server logs.
SUBSCRIBER INFORMATION AND 'CONTACT US' FORMS
Information submitted by users via the "Contact Us" page listed next to the mailing address at the bottom of Food Policy Action's website comes to Food Policy Action in the form of an email. Food Policy Action will store your email address in its database of supporters if: (1) you elect to receive our email updates when you use its web-based form to contact Food Policy Action, or (2) if you participate in any Food Policy Action campaign. Food Policy Action does not collect any information other than what the supporter provides on its forms. If you would like to review your personal information collected, make corrections and/or request that your information not be shared with third parties, please contact Food Policy Action here. Requests are usually processed within several working days.
Subscriber information will be used by Food Policy Action to send out messages related to its work, advocacy and related messaging.
SHARING SUBSCRIBER INFORMATION
Food Policy Action reserves the right to share subscriber information with Environmental Working Group (EWG) and EWG's sister organization, EWG Action Fund, as well as its agents, but only on the condition that such information will be used for FPA purposes only. EWG and EWG Action Fund are prohibited from adding FPA subscriber information to their own subscriber list. Otherwise, FPA will not share personally identifiable information with a third party, except in the unlikely event that it is required by law or if we have a good-faith belief that such action is necessary to comply with a court order or legal process served on our website.
COMMUNICATIONS FROM WEBSITE
Food Policy Action sends new supporters a welcome email to explain what you can expect to receive from the organization. Food Policy Action also sends supporters periodic emails with information and links to its website and other related content. Food Policy Action also sends supporters information about Food Policy Action events, action campaigns and fundraising efforts.
Supporters may unsubscribe from Food Policy Action's email updates at any time. Links to unsubscribe are included at the bottom of every Food Policy Action email communication. If you are unable to complete your request using Food Policy Action's automated system, please contact us here. Requests are usually processed within several working days.
Food Policy Action's website may contain links to other sites. Please be aware that FPA is not responsible for the privacy practices of those other sites. Food Policy Action encourages users to be aware when they leave Food Policy Action's site and to read the privacy statements of each and every website that collects personally identifiable information. This privacy statement applies solely to information collected by Food Policy Action's website.
Because Food Policy Action collects only very basic contact information, it currently does not use encryption software to protect this data. Food Policy Action gathers information about its supporters via our website and store it in a private, online database to which only Food Policy Action and its agents, which may include Environmental Working Group and EWG Action Fund, have access.
